I'm a little on the large side. I'm 5'10" tall and have size 8 feet. That's not really unusual these days although most women of my age are smaller. I admit I mostly wear jeans or trousers but I still want to look moderately feminine. So why do I always buy men's socks? Because they don't make socks in girly colours in my size, that's why. Yes, I know the pack says "one size fits all 4-8" but they don't!!!
Yes, there is the odd occasion when I find socks that are a little larger but they are always so short they barely cover my ankle bones. When you have spent a lifetime trying to find trousers long enough you get a little paranoid about that gap between trouser bottoms and shoes. Besides, I feel the cold. So it's back to men's socks. Good old size 6-8 1/2.
Surely I'm not the only woman in the world who wants girly coloured socks, am I?

Windy Day
Boy, is it windy out there! I'm trying to get back on target for the 1000 mile challenge. I started the year with a couple of short days (still celebrating the New Year) and then last week I was poorly for a bit so I need to up my game and get back on track. As befitting a retired performance manager I have a spreadsheet and graphs to monitor my progress. It helps that I'm currently on a Fitbit challenge with my darling daughter. So far this week I'm in the lead (just).
Jeremy says there's no way he's going out in this weather!

Back in Business
Due to a mixture of technical problems and sheer incompetence I haven't posted for some time. Now that I've joined the Thousand Mile Challenge I need to record my progress so my Darling Daughter has sorted out my blog.
Not much walking yesterday, though. I went with my quilting group to the Farnham Quilters' Fair. It was such a fun day. The quilts on show covered a whole range of styles and abilities. They were all well worth studying but some were amazing. I really need to practice free motion quilting.
When it came to shopping I was reasonably restrained. I'd written a list beforehand and pretty much stuck to it. Just a couple of 50p scrap bags as an extra. The G & T in the bar at lunchtime was pretty good, too!
